Halloween 2010

Here are some pictures from Halloween 2010.
Our neighborhood does Halloween BIG...it is a really good time for the kiddos
We met up with Cha Cha and these two went hand-in-hand.  These little people are so funny to listen to. We saw them, and Charli comes up and says, "Lila, we go up to the door and say Trick or Treat, and they will give you candy.  You want candy?"...and off they went
Being silly with Dad
This house really was amazing.  Just like Beetlejuice with the music and smoke and everything.
We stopped for a little while to hang out on Mary's porch and check out the loot

Thank you Nana and Natalie for coming along.

Fall Festival 2010

Last weekend was the Fall Festival at Lila's school.  The Fall Festival is the big event of the year there, and the main attraction is the cake walk; the kiddos go crazy for the cake walk.  Natalie saved me this year and made cupcakes and cookies for us, and even delivered them.  I am a sucker for cute packaging, and I think we did a good job...our treats were the first to get chosen
I found cute stickers to make the tags and add a little something to the cupcake boxes.
I did not know that the craft stores sold these cute cupcake boxes ( and they are cheap)...a definite MUST when transporting treats to events like this.
Here is Lila and her best bud ChaCha
Cake walkin'
...and the big prize!!!

Fun with Cousins

Lila has gotten to spend a lot of time with her cousins this summer.  Last month they went to the beach for a few days.  One night she went to bed at 6:30 pm.  When she got home, I asked her what she did at the beach.  Her answer:  "I played with Aiden and Ginger bringed me M&M's".  That's what memories are made of!!!  No wonder she didn't even miss us.
Ready to go.  Have donut will travel.
Aiden and Lila could not wait to leave.  While everyone else was loading up, they patiently sat in their car seats.
It was worth the wait!

Last weekend, Lila got to travel to Fort Worth with her Gran and Toby to stay with her cousins.  She could not wait to get to Aunt Jana's...
There was trampoline fun...
Abbi's soccer game.....
and then THE ZOO!!!!
Thanks for a great weekend.  Mom and Dad got to spend a little time tailgating and football watching.  A good time was had by all.

Conversations with a Two Year Old

*Thursday, August 19, 2010
Lila: I like Santa. He brings me presents
Me: Well, he only brings presents if you are good. What kind of presents do you think he might bring you?
Lila: White or pink ones
Me: Oh, the presents are wrapped in paper?
Lila: Yeah
Me: What kinds of gifts do you want to be in the wrapped present boxes?
Lila: Brown ones

Me: Did you have a party at school today? (end of summer party)
Lila: It was a big party. There was lots of stuff. It was good, but no cake

*Wednesday, August 18, 2010
Lila walks in the door.
Lila: Mommy, why you have on tights and a dress?
Me: It's a shirt and leggings...do you like it?
Lila: No. (pointing at my toes) Oooh!
Me: I painted my toenails today.
Lila: My toes are a mess. I got to do something with them (What!!?  Is she really my kid?)

She proceeded to the bathroom, and got out her nail polish, and had to do all of her nails "by myself". So, I let her (I stayed close to make sure she didn't spill the polish on my floor).
First, the fingernails...
Then, the toes.
